Sub: Denial of economic rights viz: the right to an adequate standard of living, right to social security, and right to food and health, being violation human rights in respect of EPS 1995 pensioners settled in Karnataka state, reg.

Respected sir,

May I have your kind attention on the letter dated 19th December 2022 sent by email with the grievances of economic insecurity of EPS 1995 pensioners by violation of human rights being economic rights viz: right to an adequate standard of living, right to social security and right to food and health.
Whether this complaint merits being registered for violation of the rights of EPS 95 pensioners in exigency in the context of their advancing old age factor, with the Karnataka state human rights commission is not yet confirmed.

The situation of bad income status of poor EPS 1995 pensioners settled in Karnataka with the resultant consequences of a meager range of pension at a minimum and at the basic pension in the range of Rs 1000 and less than it not exceeding much above Rs 3000 respectively not indexed to DA kept stagnant without revision for more than 2 decades provided under the EPS 95 has brought havoc of miseries for the survival of life with the mental stress of total dependence on others at the mercy and physical stress as well when engaged in menial jobs for survival inevitably at debilitating old age in the present cost of life that gets felt/realized by them only, perhaps hardly understood by others.

It is our most humble appeal to your kind self that the kind attention of the hon’ble Prime minister may please be drawn to alleviate the ongoing human sufferings of socio-economic insecurity of EPS 1995 pensioners by a grant of a standard minimum pension at Rs 9000 with DA in order that they come out from their critical life and live in normalcy protected human rights with the constitutional right to life.

WE AS HUMANS ARE AT BEST ON BEING PROVIDED WITH SOCIO-ECONOMIC SECURITY.
THE NATION’S IMAGE ENHANCES WITH THE WELL-BEING OF ALL CITIZENS TOGETHER NOT NEGLECTING SENIOR CITIZEN RETIREES IN QUESTION WHO ACCOUNT FOR CONSIDERABLE STRENGTH DEPRIVED OF NORMAL LIFE.

On behalf of all EPS 1995 pensioners I request your kind self for the needy step kindly looking at it with seriousness what it deserves and invites, otherwise the situation brought in by the policy of pension under EPS 95 if continued, will have taken the lives of pensioners aggrieved and will continue so in desperate, disgust and inhuman pathetic conditions in particular who are supportless and shelterless poor who account in the majority that does not auger well for a democratic country with the institutions established for the wellbeing of citizens of the state.

It is humbly hoped that your highness could feel and understand the circumstances for desirable action as prayed for the wellbeing of pensioners who toiled in their prime age by service for the development of the nation.
